Schedule C - Tax credit for childcare expenses (Rama please add French for entire page)If you are entering amount in Line 455 pertaining to tax credit for child care expenses you must fill Schedule C. To qualify for the credit the childcare expenses paid must have been incurred while you on December 31,2016 was in any of the situations specified in Worksheet in Schedule C
In the worksheet please enter the percentage of credit claimed by you and the percentage claimed by your spouse as on December 31'2016. Also tick one or more box to choose the nature of childcare expense incurred by you or your spouse in box 10 to 17. Part A. Childcare expenses qualifying for the tax creditBox 20 - Tick if the expenses incurred are paid towards a camp or a boarding school
You need to go to Family workchart and enter all details pertaining to the child in there. Then you can select the child in RL-24 and the details of childcare expense paid pertaining to the child needs to be entered in there. Part B - Childcare expense limitBased on the number of eligible child whose details is entered in Family Workchart, the childcare expense limit is computed automatically by the software in box 50 of part B. Part C - Family IncomeLine 76 - Your income flows automatically from Line 275 of your return Line 78 - Your spouse's income flows from Line 275 of her return. Part D - Tax credit for childcare expensesLine 96 - If you had a spouse anytime during 2016, enter the childcare expense she claimed in line 455 of her return in line 96 of your return Line 98 - Tax credit for childcare expenses
