Part D - Refundable credit for medical expenses

The refundable tax credit for medical expenses is claimed automatically when you claim the federal credit for medical expenses and Québec medical expenses and meet the following conditions:

 

  • You were resident in Quebec as on December 31'2016

  • You were resident in Canada throughout 2016

  • You were 18 years or older as on December 31'2016

  • Your work income is $2,985 or more

Part E - Independent living tax credit for seniors

To claim this credit you needs to meet both the below conditions -

  • You were resident in Quebec as on December 31'2016

  • You were 70 years or older as on December 31'2016

 

If you have incurred expenses of following nature and enter them in the required lines then the credit will get automatically calculated in Line 69 -

 

Line 60 - You have incurred expenses for purchase, lease and installation of eligible equipment or fixtures

Line 66 - You have incurred expenses for one or more stays in a functional rehabilitation transition unit
