Provincial 479 FormsThe Provincial 479 forms calculate Provincial/Territorial refundable credits. Note: Quebec has a separate Provincial return called a TP1 Return, so they have no Provincial 479 form. Note: Alberta has few provincial credits so they are all included on the Provincial 428 form. To open the BC 479 form, double-click on the form named "BC479 - British Columbia Worksheet". Political ContributionsEnter the amount of provincial political contributions in the field provided on page 1. Training Tax CreditEnter appropriate details using the fields and check boxes provided on page 1, depending on whether the training was related to a Red Seal program or not. Refer to CRA for more information. Venture Capital Tax CreditThis is reported on the T5006 form and forwards to the Provincial 479 form. To open the T5006 form, double-click on the form named "T5006 - BC LSVC Slip" in the Form Manager, and enter appropriate details in the fields provided. Mining Exploration Tax CreditThis is reported on the T88 form and forwards to the Provincial 479 form. To open the T88 form, double-click on the form named "T88 - BC Mining Exploration credit" in the Form Manager, and enter appropriate details in the fields provided. The results on line 23 of Part 5 will forward to the Provincial 479 form. To open the AB 479 form, double-click on the form named "Alberta Worksheet". Political ContributionsEnter the amount of provincial political contributions in the field provided. The amount forwards to line 6003 of the Provincial 428 form. Contributions Made in 2012 for Alberta Senatorial CampaignEnter the amount of provincial political contributions in the field provided. The amount forwards to line 6004 of the Provincial 428 form. Unclaimed Donation for Year 2007 including in line 344 of Schedule 9Enter the appropriate amount in the field provided. Alberta Royalty RebateEnter the amount from line 23 of your 2011 T79 form in the field provided. The amount forwards to line 6006 of the Provincial 428 form. Dependant Claim Made by Your Spouse or Common-Law PartnerIf your spouse is claiming any amount for dependants enter the amount in the field provided on page 1. The amount will forward to page 4 of the Provincial 479 form. There is a lifetime claim limit of $5,000. Co-Operative Education Tax CreditEnter the amount from your T2CETC slip in the field provided. Refer to CRA for more information. Green Energy Equipment Tax CreditEnter appropriate amounts in the fields provided. Refer to CRA for more information. Cultural Industries Printing Tax CreditEnter the appropriate amount in the field provided. Refer to CRA for more information. Fitness AmountEnter the appropriate amounts in the fields provided. Note that the amount cannot be split between two spouses. Refer to CRA for more information. Primary Caregiver Tax CreditEnter the appropriate name and eligible number of days for each client for whom you are making a claim. Refer to CRA for more information. Ontario Energy and Property Tax CreditCheck the box provided if you are claiming the Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit. Note: You will also need to enter the appropriate information in the section below, entitled "Rent or Property Tax Paid in Ontario" as well as ensure box 6118 is checked on the ON-BEN form. To open the ON-BEN form, double-click on the form named "ON-BEN Seniors grant and energy credit" in the Form Manager. Student ResidenceIf you are making the $25 claim for a student residence, check the box provided. Refer to CRA for more information. Involuntary SeparationIf you are claiming an involuntary separation, check the box labeled "Yes" and enter the spouse's address in the fields provided. Rent or Property Tax Paid in OntarioEnter appropriate details regarding the address and rent/property tax paid during the year. Note: This section has space for two residences in the case of a taxpayer who moved during the year. Energy Credit and Long Term Care ExpensesEnter the appropriate amounts in the fields provided. Ontario Opportunities FundThe Ontario Opportunities Fund allows Ontario residents to reduce the provincial deficit and debt by making monetary contributions. If you wish to contribute a portion of your refund to the Fund, enter the amount in the field provided. Refer to the Ontario Ministry of Finance for more information. Ontario Tax Credits for Self-Employed IndividualsEnter appropriate details in the fields provided. The information forwards to page 2 of the Provincial 479 form. Refer to CRA for more information. Ontario Children's Activity Tax CreditOpen the form named "Dependants" and enter appropriate amounts in the section labeled "Children's Fitness and Arts Amount". Cost of Living SupplementIf you were a resident of the Northwest Territories at the end of the year, you can claim the cost of living tax credit, which may include a supplement for you and your spouse or common-law partner. If your credit is more than the tax you owe, you will receive a refund for the difference. If you had a spouse or common-law partner on December 31, 2012, and you and your spouse or common-law partner are eligible for the cost of living tax credit supplement, you and your spouse or common-law partner have to decide which one of you will claim this cost of living tax credit as only one of you can claim this credit for your family. Enter appropriate details in the fields provided. Note: If the returns are linked, the amount from the spouse's return will forward automatically, otherwise it must be reported manually.
